FOREVER TOUCHING is an intergenerational exchange program by DIVAS on queer aging. The project connects with queer elders in and outside of care institutions. FOREVER TOUCHING offers room for curiosity, care and exchange of knowledge through language and somatic practices. DIVAS understands themselves as queer future ancestors and elders in training and they seek to dream their futures into reality with those who were finding the ways to be queer long before knowing this word.
DIVAS are learning collectively from each other, as well as from kin communities and other teachers. As elders in training* DIVAS desires to learn from those who navigated non-normative lives before, while sharing what are the realities and possibilities accessible to queer realities nowadays. Through interviews, treatments and somatic exercises, DIVAS collaboratively get in touch with the local histories in elder queer bodies that speak of personal and community struggles, joy and their geographies. FOREVER TOUCHING develops a practical toolbox for connecting with people of different ages, creates new formats of mediating artistic practices and connects to more diverse audiences and performing bodies.
